Customer Review: The answer to your saddle sores.

As a neophyte, my tush is quite susceptible to the brutality inflicted by rides in excess of 20 miles. I upgraded my saddle to a Selle Italia SMP Pro in an attempt to mitigate the next day's woes. While this helped tremendously once my saddle "broke-in" I still had a great deal of discomfort for days after heading out on 30+ miles rides. This was interfering with my training regiment so in a last ditch effort to spare my workouts from "wussification" I purchased the Pearl Izumi P.R.O. cycling shorts.

I already own Pearl Izumi's Quest cycling shorts and find them to be excellent everyday workout shorts. However, they were inadequate for my longer rides but the P.R.O. shorts....were a godsend. Make no mistake, I wanted to cry when I spent [...] on shorts when I paid only [...] for my quest shorts. Why be cheap now I rationalized? I've already spent [...] on a bike, [...] on wheels, [...] on shoes, [...] on a saddle...you get the picture. Anyway saddle aside, this was the best investment that I've made for my backside. If I go on a 40 mile with the P.R.O. shorts I experience little soreness if any. If I try the same thing with the quest shorts, I'm not able to get a decent ride in the next day.

Don't wear these for everyday training (unless you're CAT 1 or 2), you won't notice a difference. Get these shorts for your longer rides. Believe me you won't look back.
