Construction: Back and inside of arms are single soft layer for ventilation, rest of jacket double layer
Strong looking large zipper. Although the wrist closure is not adjustable, it fits nice as does the neck.
Temp. range: high 30s to high 50s
Size: I'm 6'6'', 185lbs, ordered a Large, and it fits like a glove, with sufficient sleeve length.
The great thing about this garmet is the semi form fit, with a bit of spandex. Unlike standard single layer windbreakers which often have excess material, and therefore on fast descents flop around in the wind, this one doesn't. What a nice change! You can actually hear yourself think at fast speeds!
Today for my first test, I wore a sleeveless undershirt, midweight long sleeve jersey and the jacket. The temp was 37 when I left and about 53 3 hours later, but sunny. Since I was on my recumbent with my arms more horizontal, there was a bit more ventilation in the bottom (elbow to arm pit) arms than I'd like during the fast descents (25-33), but still acceptable. At normal cruising speeds just right. I don't think this will be a problem on a diamond frame. I like the jacket to breath, as I tend to get hot... Much above the high 50s and I think this jacket would be too hot for me. But great for these frosty days in SoCA.
Be aware since the jacket is mostly double layer, that it will NOT compress to fit into the rear pocket of a jersey. I tied mine to my fanny pack...
